A loving Feast

She sees the feast laid out

and waits for  but a morsel

From his table

***

He sees the want

the imploring eyes

In her face

***

Then turns away

Yes, he’s had a feast

At her table

***

But that was then

and Now is now

In their lives

***

There’s not  a morsel

to spare from

his opulent feast

***

The spark in her eyes

dies down as she

turns to leave

***

There’s no want, no need

no zest, no joie de vivre

No spark, no life

***

As a barren path beckons

the bruised n battered

Heart moves on

***

A tale of many broken hearts … narrated so well.
