Sentimental – To be or Not To be

Sentimental : Today’s Daily Prompt:

Where do I begin?

Sentimental, it appears to me,
Is not just  my middle name
But my first and last as well….

My poor brain littered with sentiments…
Foolish, cherished, wondrous,
Romantic, unrealistic, luminous
Instinctive, impractical, incongruous sentiments

From school prize books to  dogeared cook books,
From brass  to  house plants nurtured in  nooks
From Jaipuri Rasais to my Kashmiri carpet, 
From French crystal to Srilankan rice plate..

From the first bleary pic of  my babes-in-arms,
To the teary one at my husband’s farewell to arms!
From my lucky blue sari worn to change my exam fate,
To the dear red and gold  worn on my  wedding date!

Each Knick knack, each treasured gift
Each picture, each bag, did spirits lift!
Each one had a happy story to tell,
where sweet memory would dwell!

Oh where do I stop

Sentimental  it appears to me,
