OUT OF BREATH : We all seem to insist on how busy, busy, busy we constantly are. Let’s put things in perspective: tell us about the craziest, busiest, most hectic day you’ve had in the past decade.
Busiest day of the decade,
Difficult choice has to be made
Among a thousand days each one busier than the last
Dozen “me”s meet each other some days, each whizzing past.
********
Whose turn is it to take the stage today I wonder
The wife, the doctor, the daughter or the mother?
The social me, the chef or the interior decorator?
The surgeon, the friend, the sis or the mall locator?
The mommy with the morning routine, sleepy heads woken up
Tiffins packed, flying hands, check uniforms – all done up?
Quick bath, quicker breakfast, rushing out of the door
Bated breath, traffic jams, precious patient is in labor!
********
Wards done, OPD done, Labor Room done, OT done,
Its evening grabbed a bite, before I come undone
Back home, quick oh quick, into the kitchen
Dinner done, home decor done, baked the chicken.
*******
Smiling faces, music and many happy praises later, feet up – aah what bliss
Trrring goes the phone, twins in labor – Oh, oh, nothing should go amiss!
Out again through pelting rain, a drive, anxious moments and a hour or so later
An exhausted mother, smiling through her tears makes my heart go pitter patter.
**********
A family waits up , my hubby, son and daughter
The warm words and smiles make me feel better…
A day is done, the new one is about to begin
All I want is a cuppa and am ready to turn in.
*********
Yet would I have it differently ,any other way?
Sometimes yes a tiny voice in me would say
But mostly no, this is me – this what I enjoy
This is me, this is my life, this gives me joy!

All of us find our ways of balancing… our ways of unwinding and our own ways of being “us”… its just a matter of choices…. and being happy with them.. what say? 🙂 😀

I can’t help but admire all that you do. My mom always says medical field for women is the hardest as their is no sense of timings. You get an emergency call you’ve to be there despite the odds. Great piece! Hope you are having a great weekend 🙂 ❤
