Masks, Anyone?

MASKS  OFF: We’re less than a week away from Halloween! If you had to design a costume that channeled your true, innermost self, what would that costume look like?

Am kind of allergic to masks, you know, in life,

In a mom or son, dad or daughter, husband or wife!

But the daily prompt today says I must strive

Channelize my inner self and thus feel alive!

——–

Masking my joys or sorrows or (as many will vouch)

My anger,  never comes easy, in the chair or on the couch

I generally mean what I say and say what I mean,

Habits at this age, are pretty difficult to wean!

——–

Halloween I have not partaken wherever I’ve been

Familiar I am only through books and the screen.

Masks best left alone, to wear or use, I am never keen

Even writing about them you can see, is not my scene!

——–

But choose one I must as DP says no, sorry

Here is one – woman in all her powerful glory

Ancient India worshiped her as “Shakti” *

Source of all energy, she inspires “Bhakti”! **

* Shakti – Cosmic Energy / Power

** Bhakti – Devotion

Maa durga images
Maa Durga or Goddess Durga The supreme source of Power and Knowledge

Happy weekend, folks!!!

That’s you personified …. truly open, nothing to mask or hide and an embodiment of the innner strength of a woman!! Wonderfully expressed too. Loved this one.

Hmmmm! I agree with your views on white lies but personally I don’t like it. ..even when I do it myself! This Durga image is an eternal favorite of mine… I use it often in theme ideas. ☺

New flavor? Talking about me or you? I have always loved writing in rhyme… would not call it poetry – my writing not qualified for that, yet! 😉

Oh, I was talking about you only but in a different context. It was not to emphasize who started later or sooner writing in rhyme. Since you suggested me once to write in prose when I was generally writing in rhyme initially and your posts were generally in prose, your last few posts were in poetry form so made a mention of it and I thought I could take that liberty since I have read all your posts from day one. As far as Qualification is concerned, everybody has his own set standards. 🙂
